Build your first Finnish sentences
Understand sentence structure, vowel harmony, personal endings and the difference between being and having.

Choose location cases through journeys, places, transport and visits, rather than memorising six disconnected endings.

Understand how negation, quantity, verb patterns and the way you present an action affect the object case.

Keep the full reference beside you
The reference covers the original 17 topic areas, including plurals, consonant gradation, infinitives, participles, pronouns, adjectives and time expressions. Use the lessons for guided learning and the reference for a specific form.
Make the practice useful
- Choose a meaning before choosing an ending. Ask what the reader or listener needs to understand.
- After checking an answer, explain the rule in your own words and create a different example.
- Use the final task for writing, then say a shorter version aloud. Compare your sentence functions with the model.
- Revisit a lesson when the same difficulty appears in your writing, speaking, reading or listening practice. Those practice areas have their own guest access limits.
