1. About the service

YKI Test Prep is a free online platform that provides practice materials and study tools for the Finnish YKI language exam, including reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary, a level diagnostic, and articles. The service is provided for educational and self study purposes only.

We are an independent resource and are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Finnish National Agency for Education (OPH), the University of Jyväskylä, the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri), or any official YKI examiner. Our materials are designed to help you prepare, but they are not official exam content and we do not guarantee any particular exam result. Always rely on the official sources for registration, dates, levels, and requirements.

2. Accounts

You can use most of the site as a guest. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity that happens under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorised use. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page.

3. Acceptable use

When using the site, you agree not to:

• break the law or infringe the rights of others;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service or its systems;
• scrape, copy, or redistribute our content in bulk for commercial purposes;
• upload or post content that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, misleading, or spam;
• misuse community features, reviews, messaging, or support channels.

We may suspend or remove access, content, or accounts that breach these terms.

4. User content

Some features let you post content, such as community discussions, replies, teacher reviews, messages, and contact submissions. You keep ownership of what you post, but you grant us a non exclusive licence to host and display it as part of running the service. You are responsible for the content you submit and must have the right to share it. We may moderate or remove content that breaches these terms.

5. Intellectual property

The practice questions, exercises, articles, text, design, and branding on YKI Test Prep are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may use the materials for your own personal, non commercial study. You may not reproduce, resell, or redistribute them without our written permission.

6. Third party services and links

The site relies on third party providers, including Supabase for accounts and data storage and Google for analytics and advertising, and it links to external sites such as official YKI and immigration resources. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third party sites. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

7. Advertising

The site may display advertising, including ads served by Google AdSense and its partners, to keep the service free. Advertising and any related use of cookies is handled in line with our Privacy Policy and the choices you make in the cookie consent banner.

8. Disclaimer

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the content is complete, error free, or that it reflects the current official exam format, and we do not guarantee that using the site will result in passing the YKI exam. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, YKI Test Prep is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Privacy

Your use of the site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we collect and how we protect it.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Finnish courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
